Cyrano de Bergerac: A Theatrical Classic in Mexico

The play "Cyrano de Bergerac" tells the story of Cyrano, a poet and swordsman known for his wit and prominent nose, who falls in love with his cousin Roxana. The plot unfolds in France and centers on Cyrano's struggle for love, despite his own insecurity and society's obsession with appearance.

The staging, adapted by Jorge Romero Calderón, is presented at the Gothic Chapel of the Instituto Cultural Helénico with performances on Saturdays at 7:00 PM and Sundays at 6:00 PM until March 16. The play promises an exciting and fresh theatrical experience that captures attention from the very first moment.

The cast, led by Jorge Romero Calderón and featuring prominent figures such as Adriana Occelli, Fabián Chávez, Luis Domingo, among others, bring the characters to life and accompany Cyrano on his journey of love, desire, and acceptance. The carefully designed fencing choreographies add intensity and emotion to the confrontations, while the live music by The Triskells adds an epic and poetic touch to the story.

Romero Calderón's adaptation delves into the universal themes of love and desire while reflecting on the masks of inclusion in today's world. The combination of set design, music, choreography, and performances makes this version of "Cyrano de Bergerac" an unmissable theatrical experience that invites reflection on the depth of the human spirit and the duality between tradition and modernity in a unique setting. Don't miss this play that celebrates the talent of independent theater companies in Mexico!
